A lantern-shaped vase, named for its resemblance to traditional Chinese lanterns. With a slightly flared mouth, graceful neck, full shoulders, and rounded belly, the splayed foot is decorated with motifs. The overall form is stable and dignified, embodying a classic shape for imperial palace porcelain—often used for display to exude royal grandeur.

Ground Color Technique: using "gold" as the base, gold glaze is first applied to the porcelain body to create a luxurious golden ground. Decorative motifs are subsequently painted on the gold glaze, representing the opulent craftsmanship of Qing Dynasty imperial porcelain with extremely high production costs.

Main Decorative Motifs: the main design features five-clawed dragon and phoenix motifs (the five-clawed dragon being an exclusive imperial symbol). The dragon is rendered with strong, vigorous lines—its claws powerfully extended, scales and manes meticulously detailed, and posture majestic. The phoenix, with its nimble form and gracefully spread feathers.

Secondary Decorations: the space between the dragon and phoenix motifs is densely filled with twisted floral patterns (including auspicious flowers like peony and lotus). The rim and foot are adorned with key fret patterns, geometric motifs, and ruyi symbols. The elaborate yet well-structured decoration aligns with the Qianlong-era imperial aesthetic of "hundred flowers without revealing the ground" (百花不露地), reflecting opulent courtly refinement.

Enamel Colors: painted with five-colored enamels (red, blue, green, etc.), the hues are rich and vibrant, creating a striking visual contrast against the golden ground. This design exudes opulence without compromising dignity. This piece integrates the "golden ground technique,

five-colored enameling, and dual dragon and phoenix motifs,"serving as a paragon of the fusion of Qianlong imperial kiln craftsmanship and courtly aesthetics. It exemplifies the zenith of Qianlong imperial kiln techniques and imperial grandeur, standing as a rare treasure among Qing Dynasty imperial court porcelain.
