Porcelain Overview: this scroll jar falls under the category of large - scale stationery or decorative items used in the imperial court of the Qing Dynasty. It features a plump and substantial form, with a fine and compact porcelain body, and a lustrous and shiny glaze surface. The body of the jar is coated with rouge red glaze, which is also referred to as gold - red glaze. This glaze uses gold as the coloring agent, resulting in high production costs and significant technical challenges. On the abdomen of the jar, there is a circular medallion. Inside this medallion, dragon and phoenix motifs are painted. The dragon motif looks powerful and imposing, while the phoenix motif appears beautiful and agile. Accompanied by auspicious cloud patterns, they imply the imperial good fortune and harmony symbolized by "dragon and phoenix bringing auspiciousness". Outside the medallion, interlocking floral patterns are arranged, creating a visually rich effect when combined with the rouge red background. At the bottom of the jar, there is a six - character seal script mark that reads "Made in the Qianlong Reign of the Great Qing". This is the standard mark of the imperial kilns during the Qianlong period. It is porcelain commissioned for the imperial court during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty.

According to collection statistics, there are less than six genuine pieces of the "Qianlong Imperial Rouge Red Ground Polychrome Openwork Dragon and Phoenix Motif Large Jar" in the world. Among them, two are respectively kept in the National Palace Museum in Beijing and the National Palace Museum in Taipei.

In June 2025, Jincheng International Group spent a large sum of money to acquire this "Rouge Red Ground Polychrome Openwork Dragon and Phoenix Motif Large Jar" from a private collector in Hong Kong. This jar not only represents the highest level of porcelain - making during the Qianlong period but also reflects Emperor Qianlong's cultural expression of desiring stable imperial power and a peaceful world.More than a piece of porcelain, it is an embodiment of imperial power.

Collectible Dimension: A Rare and Unique Artifact Endorsed by Imperial Authority

As an artifact from the Qianlong imperial kiln, it was exclusively crafted for the royal court. The dragon and phoenix motifs, representing the highest symbols of imperial authority, were reserved solely for utensils used by emperors and empresses, endowing it with unparalleled historical and symbolic value.

A masterpiece of craftsmanship: this vat integrates two top-tier techniques, namely "carmine glaze" (using gold as the colorant, a technique originating from Europe with extremely high costs) and "openwork painting", representing the highest level of porcelain-making craftsmanship in the world at that time.

Auspicious implications in patterns: the "dragon and phoenix bringing prosperity" inside the openwork is the most prestigious combination in traditional Chinese auspicious culture, symbolizing the harmony of yin and yang, national peace and people's security, and embodying both aesthetic value and cultural connotation.

Market demand: global demand for top-tier Chinese antiques remains strong. As major museum collections become increasingly comprehensive and with the state's tightened control over first-grade cultural relics, the number of important Qianlong imperial kiln pieces entering the circulation market has been declining year by year, with supply nearing a state of "exhaustion." The growth of wealthy populations has fueled the demand for collecting artworks, and Qianlong imperial kiln porcelain, as the "crown jewel" of Chinese antiques, has become a "must-have" and the ultimate goal in high-end collecting.
