Porcelain Introduction: this artifact is a large yellow-ground underglaze red dragon-patterned jar (Qing Emperor Qianlong period, imitating the Ming Xuande mark). It is an exquisite traditional porcelain work modeled after the famous wares of the Ming Xuande official kilns. Through the highly challenging combined craftsmanship of "yellow ground + underglaze red", it embodies the aesthetic and cultural essence of court porcelain from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Its core craftsmanship is underglaze red, a classic underglaze color category from the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty. It is created by painting patterns on the ceramic body with copper red pigment, covering it with transparent glaze, and then firing it at high temperature. Due to the strict requirements of copper red pigment on the firing atmosphere, the yield rate is extremely low, making it a precious variety among court porcelains. This jar uses the imperial-exclusive delicate yellow glaze as the ground color, with a smooth, glossy and even glaze surface. Over the ground color, patterns are painted in underglaze red: the main motif is a vigorous and powerful five-clawed dragon pattern, with clear details of scales and claws, exuding a majestic aura. It is accompanied by auspicious cloud patterns, lion-head handle patterns, and a thunder pattern border at the bottom. The underglaze red color is stable and rich, forming a sharp contrast with the delicate yellow ground, which not only highlights the imperial symbolism of the dragon pattern but also emphasizes the rarity and luxury of the "yellow-ground underglaze red" combined craftsmanship.

According to collection statistics, there are no more than 20 genuine large yellow-ground underglaze red dragon-patterned jars of the same type in the world. This large yellow-ground underglaze red dragon-patterned jar was purchased by Jincheng International Group from a senior collector in Beijing in July 2025. "Jingdezhen Tao Lu" (Record of Jingdezhen Ceramics) also records that for such porcelain, "not even one out of ten in a kiln can be successful". Large-sized wares like the large yellow-ground underglaze red cloud and dragon-patterned jar are also prone to deformation due to center-of-gravity issues, so those that have been completely passed down to the present day can be called "survivors".

Craft Value: a masterful integration of peak techniques. The craft value of this artifact is its core, which can be called a microcosm of porcelain-making skills during the Qianlong period.

The nobility and difficulty of yellow glaze: the delicate yellow glaze on the jar is an imperial-exclusive glaze color during the Ming and Qing dynasties, symbolizing supreme imperial power. Its firing process is complex, requiring multiple glazing and kiln firings to achieve such an even and lustrous effect, which is beyond the reach of civilian kilns.

Cultural Value: a perfect carrier of imperial power and auspiciousness. This porcelain piece is a flawless integration of imperial power symbols and auspicious meanings in traditional Chinese culture.

The supreme symbolism of dragon patterns: the five-clawed dragon patterns on the main body of the jar are the exclusive symbol of imperial power. The dragons are vigorous and powerful with distinct scales and claws, embodying the majesty and power of the royal family. Such patterns were strictly prohibited from being used by common people in ancient society, serving as irrefutable evidence of its courtly nature.

The cultural monopoly of yellow glaze: Yellow has been a color monopolized by the imperial family in China since the Tang Dynasty. This yellow-glazed dragon-patterned jar, from its color to its patterns, comprehensively demonstrates the cultural connotation of "the supremacy of imperial power".

The cultural identity reflected in imitating Xuande marks: the imitation of the "Xuande Rein Mark" is not a simple copy, but a kind of cultural recognition and tribute from the Qianlong period to the prosperous Xuande era of the Ming Dynasty. It embodies the absorption and inheritance of the advanced Han culture by the rulers of the Qing Dynasty, and represents an expression of cultural confidence.
